Workshop Controller
Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000 + additional bonus
Job Description:
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Workshop Controller to oversee the day-to-day operations within their bodyshop. This is a hands-on leadership role, ensuring the smooth running of all repair work, maintaining high quality standards, and delivering excellent customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the bodyshop operates efficiently and profitably by managing workflows, supporting the team, and ensuring repairs are completed on time and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities of a Workshop Controller – Bodyshop:
Coordinate and manage the daily workload within the bodyshop to meet productivity and efficiency targets.
Ensure all repairs are completed to manufacturer and company standards.
Monitor work progress and provide clear communication between technicians, front-of-house staff, and customers.
Actively manage relationships with work providers and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and PAS125 standards.
Support, mentor, and manage the performance of the bodyshop team.
Deliver financial results in line with agreed budgets by optimising resources and controlling costs.
Skills and Qualifications of a Workshop Controller – Bodyshop:
Proven experience in a similar role within a bodyshop environment.
Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to motivate a team and delegate effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
A good understanding of estimating systems, with Audatex experience being highly desirable.
A full UK driving licence.
Knowledge of Health & Safety and compliance standards relevant to a bodyshop.
