HGV Trailer Technician

Location: Rugby
Basic Salary: £45,000 per annum OTE £52,000 with overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday Day shift OR 4 on 4 off – 6am to 6pm 
Extras: Overtime paid at time and a third, private healthcare, pension, and more.

Our client is looking for a talented and efficient Trailer Technician with industry-standard qualifications to join their leading team. You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing trailers to the highest standards, ensuring compliance and safety at all times.

Responsibilities for Trailer Technician:

  • Perform detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers

  • Diagnose and resolve issues using EBS systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE

  • Accurately complete all compliance documentation

  • Work to tight deadlines while delivering high-quality repairs and customer service

  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment

  • Participate in training, including IRTEC, tail lift, BPW & SAF axle/brake courses

Skills and Qualifications for Trailer Technician:
Essential:

  • Semi-Trailer or Heavy Vehicle experience

  • Industry standard qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQ

Desirable:

  • HGV Class 1 driving licence

  • IRTEC accreditation

  • EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO)

  • Welding certification

  • Training or experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST)

  • Tail lift, double deck, or lifting deck maintenance experience
